All American Idol fans are aware that it has been an ongoing tradition for the previous Idol winner to present the newly crowned one with a trophy. Unfortunately Lee DeWyze was nowhere to be seen when Scotty McCreery's moment came during the recent Season 10 finale.

Fans instantly knew something was amiss and started to tweet Lee himself, hoping to find out why he wasn�t there. Thankfully Lee tried to clear the air and responded via Twitter: �I was not asked to be involved in the Finale. It wasn't until about 2 minutes before they announced that Nigel had approached me and asked if he could borrow me for a second. I didn�t feel a last second jump on stage was appropriate. It was Scotty's moment.�
Earlier, producer Nigel Lythgoe stirred up the buzz surrounding the drama when he tweeted a different side of the story. "I was so upset Lee DeWyze wouldn't present the winners trophy to Scotty. Especially as he'd been on the show this Season. I guess he was shy,� he wrote.
Lee�s brother, however, wasn�t as calm about the whole incident and took to Twitter to express his dissatisfaction. �American Idol producers have no respect�that is all�serious b.s.,� Michael DeWyze tweeted.
