Daffodil Days is one of the oldest and most beloved fundraising programs run by the American Cancer Society for the past 35 years. Every spring, the American Cancer Society offers daffodils to donors in appreciation for their contribution with the flower representing the hope of a future where cancer no longer exists.
?This week, Entertainment Tonight’s Chris Jacobs visited The Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center in Burbank, CA to help promote the American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days campaign.??
At the Disney Family Cancer Center, Chris Jacobs, whose own mother is a cancer survivor, met with cancer patient, Linda. He presented her with a bouquet of daffodils. Chris asked where she finds her strength in her fight against cancer, and Linda says, “Well I find it in my spiritual center. I told you that I like to read, one of the things that I like to read is the bible, with the faith and the promises.” In reference to her own battle with cancer Linda said, “The first syllable of cancer is can, and I think cancer embodies a can do spirit… you can overcome it, you can treat it, you can win.”
??The 2011 Daffodil Days campaign has raised over $511,000 dollars through online donations alone this year.
