Polo Ralph Lauren is collaborating with The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research to create an exclusive limited-edition Michael J. Fox Foundation Dog Tag and raise public awareness of Parkinson’s disease.
The dog tags will debut in April during Parkinson’s Awareness Month. Polo Ralph Lauren will donate one hundred percent of the net proceeds from the sale to support the Foundation and its mission to find a cure for the disease.
“The dog tag offers a simple, yet meaningful way to get involved and express solidarity with the millions of Parkinson’s patients and their loved ones worldwide,” said Tracy Pollan, actress, Foundation board member and wife of Michael J. Fox.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation Dog Tags are designed by Polo Ralph Lauren, with collaboration from the Michael J. Fox Foundation. The tag is crafted from vintage nickel-plated brass reflecting Ralph Lauren's timeless American style and includes authentic font and stamping methods. The tags are inscribed with motivational quotes such as “Be Inspired,” “Be Involved” and “Be Bold,” as well as the signature Foundation logo. The limited-edition dog tag will be available at select Ralph Lauren stores, RalphLauren.com and Rugby.com at a retail price of $95.00.
Parkinson’s disease is a chronic, degenerative neurological disorder that affects one in 100 people over the age of 60. While the average age at onset is 60, people have been diagnosed as young as 18. The Michael J. Fox Foundation funds the high-risk, high reward science with a single goal ? speeding progress toward breakthrough treatments patients can feel in their everyday lives.
